Rolex Submariner Date 126610LN
Known as Submariner Date 41 ("no-date's dressier brother," the black-bezel Sub)
The 126610LN is the current-production Rolex Submariner Date in Oystersteel with the black Cerachrom bezel and black dial. Rolex introduced it at the end of August 2020 as the successor to the 116610LN, and it is the watch most people picture when they say the word "Submariner." Two things changed on paper versus the outgoing model, and both matter. The case grew from 40mm to 41mm, and the movement stepped up from the caliber 3135 to the caliber 3235 with a 70-hour power reserve. What did not change is the formula: a screw-down crown, a unidirectional bezel, 300 meters of water resistance, and an Oyster bracelet that survives real life. We see this reference across the counter constantly on 47th Street, both people selling and people who want one, so we speak about it from both sides of the transaction.
Produced: 2020 to present. Introduced at the end of August 2020, replacing the 40mm 116610LN, and still in current production and catalog as of 2026.

Market & Value
As of 2026 the official Rolex retail on the 126610LN is 11,350 dollars, up about 5.8 percent over the 2025 list. That is the number on the boutique tag. It is not the number most buyers actually pay, because authorized dealer waitlists on steel sport Rolex still run 12 to 24 months and the watch is rarely sitting in a case. Unworn 2025 and 2026 production is trading roughly in the 15,500 to 16,500 dollar range on the secondary market, call it 38 to 43 percent over list. Pre-owned examples with box and papers land closer to 13,000 to 14,500 dollars depending on year, condition, and whether the full set is there. This is one of the most liquid references in the entire market: median time to sell sits around 17 days, faster than the large majority of watches the aggregators track. Liquidity is why we write checks on these confidently. We know what a clean one costs us and we know what it moves at.
What to Know Before You Buy
A few things separate a strong 126610LN from an average one. First, confirm it is the 41mm 126610LN and not the discontinued 40mm 116610LN; the reference is engraved on the rehaut and between the lugs, and the newer case wears with slimmer lugs and a 21mm bracelet versus the older 20mm. Second, the box and papers matter here more than on many references because supply is tight and buyers are picky; a full set with the card, tags, and both crowns carries a real premium. Third, check the Glidelock clasp and the bracelet stretch, since a well-worn bracelet with play still functions but affects what we can pay. Fourth, service history: the caliber 3235 is a robust movement, but an unopened watch under the five-year guarantee is worth more than one that has been through an aftermarket watchmaker. Watch out for aftermarket bezels and refinished dials; the platinum-coated Cerachrom insert and the Chromalight dial should read crisp and factory. If anything looks off, we authenticate in-house before any offer.
